“8 bones touch on the floor in Sajda (Prostration): 7 of them are 2 feet, 2 knees, 2 hands and 1 forehead, and 1 remaining bone comes last. It is the nose. It is like the tool of the 8th JaNNat (paradise). Words, fragrance (RayiHa) and spirit (RuH) are related to each other. The one who does not rub his nose on the floor during the sajda, cannot smell the fragrance of the JaNNat.” [Kul Ihvani]

COMMENTARY BY GARIBAN:

When I was in Gemlik Village last week, Kul Ihvani was mentioning me about the way you put those bones on the floor in Sajda after morning prayer. Two feet being always on the floor is the level of shariat, knees coming next is the level of tariqat, hands being put after that are the level of marifat and the head and nose are the level of Haqiqat completed at 4 steps. I would draw your attention to the feet which are the foundation and he defines them at the level of shariat!.. This is where you build your faith upon and it needs to be strong. There are ayats in the Qur'an related to feet. For instance: "Remember He covered you with a sort of drowsiness, to give you calm as from Himself, and He caused rain to descend on you from heaven, to clean you therewith, to remove from you the stain of Satan, to strengthen your hearts, and to plant your feet firmly therewith." [ Qur'an al-Anfal 11]. In this ayat this firmness is emphasized and again in the following ayat: "And take not your oaths, to practise deception between yourself, with the result that someone's foot may slip after it was firmly planted, and ye may have to taste the evil (consequences) of having hindered (men) from the path of Allah, and a mighty wrath descend on you." [Qur'an An-Nahl-94], feet are mentioned to be sliding from the right way. This shows the importance of where you are standing firmly. When a baby is born it is standing in the Rahiym (Womb) of the Mother. When a baby is born, it comes out upside down and its feet are in the direction of the womb where it is standing. When someone dies it goes to the womb of the Earth. Earth is the representation of the Ar-Rahiym. In fact human is born from Rahiym and goes back (makes Ruju) to Rahiym again. During the Salat (Prayer) in Qiyam, you start on your feet by standing on position and your head comes to floor in sajda. From feet to head , you testify this!.. Why did we mention number "7" over here? Why is Sajda important and what other message does this 7 bones touching the earth give to us? If you pay attention to the quadruple system that Kul Ihvani explains to us , number 4 is very important. Kul Ihvani says 4 is the number where balance is perfectly set up on e.g. tables having 4 legs, 4 seasons, 4 elements (air-earth-fire-water), La -ilaha-illa-ALLAH, 4 ventricles of the heart and many more. System of 7 comes into balance of 4 in Sajda but many balances are set up until it comes to the balance of 4. When we use mathematical combinations e.g (7:0)=1, (7:1)=7, (7:2)=21, (7:3)=35, (7:4)=35 now we stopped as creation came in to balance here. 1+ 7 +21+35+35 = 99 !... This draws our attention to the hadiths of the prophets mentioning 99 Divine Names of ALLAH. When Divine Names manifests from the Essence -Qudity of ALLAH (Dhat), System of ALLAH comes to balance in the following steps: DHAT (Essence of God) --> SIFAT --> ASMA --> ASHYA (Matter/Material) . In these 4 steps 99 balances are set up. Now someone may say, there are infinite names of Allah. Yes that is true. It is like in the periodical table, you have alloys, you have combinations of many names so those 99 will be multiplying its self. We are only thinking about general system. Coming from Qiyam (standing position) to Sajda (Prostration) position during the Salat is showing us the KuN faYakun (Be and It is). Actions done in Salat are called RuKuN!.. Every time you go up and down during the salat (prayer), you represent how the Order of ALLAH (KuN:Be) comes and Creation are created at every moment (KuN). These are only a few signs to make contemplation (tafakkur) for us inshaALLAH.

As Salaam and Love. GaribAN.
